One People, One Soul, One Destiny

Celebrating Pacific connections, shared knowledge and collective aspirations, the 2026 APSTE Fono brought together Pacific staff from tertiary institutions across Aotearoa in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
Guided by the theme ‘One People, One Soul, One Destiny — From Sorong to Samarai’, with Papua at the centre, the two-day gathering held from 31 August to 1 September provided a space for meaningful talanoa, knowledge sharing, professional development and strengthening relationships.
The Fono celebrated the diversity of Pacific peoples while reaffirming a shared commitment to uplifting Pasifika communities and advancing Pacific excellence across Aotearoa’s tertiary education sector.
